DESCRIPTION:Dr. Martin Luther King\, Jr. asserted that “not everybody can be famous\, but everybody can be great because greatness is determined by service.” In this workshop\, we will explore the meaning of citizenship and civic leadership and review prestigious scholarship and fellowship opportunities that recognize students who demonstrate this important quality. Students will identify an opportunity that best matches their interests. You will also complete writing and reflection exercises to better articulate your community service or civic engagement experiences\, your future goals in serving the community\, and your potential for leadership. Opportunities to demonstrate and deepen civic leadership will also be explored.
